I am married to my best friend, the Mom of 4 beautiful children, and I love the Lord. In one second of one day, our lives as we knew it were changed forever. On October 14, 2016, I got the dreaded phone call that a parent should never get. Our oldest son Derek, age 20, was taken from us suddenly and tragically. Our family has been devastated by his death and our hearts and lives will never be the same. We decided early in our journey to try to pick up the pieces of our broken hearts and continue to live a life that honors Derek’s memory and gives glory to God. My prayer is that this blog will tell a story of hope and how our faith in God promises that we will see our sweet Derek again.
